What Care Your Ann Arbor Lawn Needs

Posted by admin on Jan 14, 2010

In my experience a lawn will stay alive if you treat it reasonably here in Ann Arbor. And a lawn can flourish if you give it some special care throughout the year.

Here is what I mean:

A lawn can survive like a park or school yard if you just don’t let it get smothered with leaves in the fall and you keep it cut (don’t cut it too short) during the growing season. It will get weeds, but the weeds will still be mostly green so they won’t be too noticeable unless you are standing on the lawn.

You’ll need to cut it enough that at any given time you aren’t cutting more than 1/3 of the grasses length.

If you want a lush green lawn you will need to water it during the summer, make an effort to kill weeds during the growing season, and fertilize it a couple times a year.

You take care of your grass and it will take care of you!
